The Oglevee family holds a really special place in my heart. As we've known them since Tech School, they are our longest Air Force friends that have lived in the same area as us! Does that make sense? We met them and hung out a few times in our brief stay at Keesler and then they came to Germany just a few months before us and were the first friends to welcome us to all the crazy-newness of living in another country.
That first weekend, they met us at the BX, helped us get cell phones and our German bank account, and then invited us over to their house to do laundry.
I will never forget that first venture out into Germany to get to their house. There is nothing like Germany in the Spring. I was just in awe at how beautiful everything was!
That feeling is something that I forget sometimes... but for some reason being at Tiffany and Quentin's house really brings back that initial sense of awe for me. I still remember gazing out the windows of their lovely little apartment that day while we waited for our laundry to dry... so much green! And out one window, just over the trees, you could see the top of an old church. Out their kitchen window, a terraced yard where there were chickens poking around! It was so adorable and so German.
And the Oglevee's have been a part of our Air Force family our entire time in Germany. Mila and the girls play awesome together. And they live just a stone's throw away from us, making babysitting swaps really convenient. They are very giving friends, always willing to help out when we need it. Most recently during Jesse's surgeries. It's such a blessing to be able to be with my husband in the hospital starting at 6am on those surgery days, knowing my girls are sleeping peacefully at their favorite friend's house, ready for a fun-filled-day of play!
It was so exciting to find out that Tiffany was expecting Baby #2! And though Mila might have been a little disappointed that she wasn't getting a sister, she still seems pretty excited about her baby Brother!
It was such a blast joining them for a maternity shoot. They have the honor of being the first non-family members that I've used as guinea pigs for my budding photography skills. I was actually really nervous. But once we started rolling, it was totally fine! Whew, maybe I CAN do this!
A big congrats to the Oglevee family as they get ready to welcome #2 to the family! I can't wait to meet him!
Amazing job!!!
