Talking To Myself

So I recently discovered that the main reason I like to journal is to talk to myself. Jesse was asking me why I write so much since I never really go back and use them. And I realized I didn't really know why! I have about 40 of these things, dating all the way back to grade school. Those ones served a little different purpose :o) but over the years, writing in my journals has changed into something really important to me. There are tons of little reasons I like doing it (I can refresh my memory about something, my girls will be able to read about our life, stuff like that) but I really love it because I like to...talk to myself. There's no other way to put it!

I talk to myself about how I'm feeling, what we're doing, where I'm at. I remind myself of truth. I pray. I babble on about things till their more straightened out in my mind. I write down scripture and quotes. I just started this notebook from Toni. Fall colors, too! (She keeps me well stocked in my journal habit!) I just love the blank pages that are waiting to be filled with my thoughts. I find that when I get things out of my head and onto the paper, I'm better able to focus on stuff. Like chatting something over with a good girlfriend over a cup of coffee. Hehe maybe Jesse should be thankful I journal so much...who KNOWS how chatty I'd be when he got home if I didn't! :o)

Let's have a moment of silence for the end of an era: finger-print-free-windows no more! :o) But that's okay...I can't help but love those little finger prints. And I haven't bothered to clean them up yet...so I have lots of chances to love them!

  1. I love, love, love little handprints on my windows. I never wash them off. I often clean the french doors in the house and leave the little handprints I find. I love to walk by and see little pudgy prints on glass. It reminds me to live in the moment.

Funny thing that you say you like to talk to yourself via your journals. I straight up talk to myself; working things out verbally rather than written. I have tried so hard to get into the habit of keeping a journal because I'm sure I've been overheard by Jeremy (and many others over the years...) and been coined crazy, but I just can't stay in the habit of writing instead of talking!

  2. Hehe...well, you *are* a bit crazy! ;o) How'd all your raw milk experiments go? I was jealous, by the way, to hear you got some! Enjoy all the health benefits and yumminess that's sure to come!
