I still miss NY fall, but Toni sent me a wonderful package of fall things...like a pumpkin spice candle, and some cute fake leaves and a picture of some more! So I'm recovering a little. As Jesse reminded me, we're only going to be here a little longer...and it's exciting to experience a new area of the country. (I was able to agree a little more heartily last week than I can today...it's currently 92, with a RealFeel over 100! I think I finally recovered from the sweat-fest that running errands this morning induced...and I have to go back out soon to get Jesse!) But yes, it is nice to experience what these poor southerners go through! ;o)

Fast Facts:

We had a fantastic weekend! Very relaxing after our crazy week. We just stayed home and it was veeery nice!

I made green smoothies again and we used up the last of the weird yogurt I made. Tomorrow I shall embark on yogurt attempt #2.

I had my new patient appointment at the Women's Health Center at Keesler today. Everyone is very nice and they got me in for my first OB appointment next week! They're able to get me appointments on down Fridays, so I don't have to get up at 3:30am again to take Jesse in so we can have the car! :o) (ZZZZZZ is it bedtime, yet?)

I have definitely decided to wean Lily around her birthday. I will miss moments like this...she hold my thumb every time she nurses. I think she likes to scrape my fingernail or something. And look at that cool nail polish! Jesse ran an errand to Walmart for me and came back with two funky blues and an amazing pumpkin orange! :o)

Jesse was all productive this weekend and sorted out both my "to sort" piles. So this morning I took a car load of stuff to the Goodwill down the road. She helped me unload and told me to keep it coming cause they need more stuff. I think I have at least another car full to bless them with!

Lily is so sweet.

Look at her napping like an angel baby even though I woke her up at 3:25 am this morning so we could have the car.

I love you baby girl.

  1. I love your posts and pictures! I totally know where you are coming from with enjoying nursing...sometime Katie will just stop, turn and look at me and smile :) I love it. Remember, even though Lily will be finished, you'll have that time with Sam to enjoy...I can't wait to see pictures of her!

  2. Oh I know, aren't the milky smiles the greatest? :o) And you're right...can't nurse the kid forever! Especially when the next one's coming so soon! ;o) Thanks!

  3. In my experience... we miss it far more than they do. I cried when Natalie didn't even notice I had dropped a feeding. I held on to the evening one for a month longer than Derrick and I had originally discussed because I loved the time we had together. And the little sucker didn't even realize when I dropped that one! I was disappointed she didn't scream each and every night! lol Anyways... when and how are you starting to wean? Feel free to ask any questions.

And... did you make more yogurt? What recipe did you use? I was going to do this: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Homemade-Plain-Yogurt/Detail.aspx Am I the only one that finds it odd that I need yogurt to make yogurt? ;)

  4. Yeah I know she'll wean fine because she's already starting to show some signs of losing interest. She enjoys nursing, but she's not as...committed :o) I'm thinking of starting the process mid/late October so we're done by her first birthday. Although I'm considering hanging onto *one* feeding...just cause I want to! :o) Interesting that you liked the evening one best...my favorite is the morning!

My second try at yogurt was another fail so I'm considering giving that one a rest :o) I think my equipment is faulty...the blogger I was going by shows pictures of a big air-tight cooler for the incubation period and I only have a collapsible one...so it might not be keeping things warm enough for the bacteria to grow. Bethanne offered to loan me her cooler to try it but I'm not sure I want to risk wasting another (almost) gallon of milk! And I think I posted a link to the recipe when I talked about it. I mean...it's not really a recipe, right? Just yogurt and milk :o) But yeah, having to have a starter is weird. What if ALL the yogurt gets destroyed??? THEN WHAT DO WE DO??? ;o)
