Resolution Two, CHECK

The whole house is organized and picked up.  Apparently I over-estimated a few things on that New Year's Resolution.  Mostly, that I thought it would take forever.  It didn't :o)

Turns out when your husband works evenings you turn into a major get-things-done freak to keep from being lonely, bored, or creeped out by the super quiet house.  By the way I think that messy pile of books had been sitting in the hallway like that since oh, September.

It was really just a simple matter of going through closets, cupboards, and drawers to put things back in their place.  Fold clothes.  Toss a few things in the to-donate pile.  Figure out better ways to fit stuff in their space.  And wa-la!  The house is all picked up!  Only took me three evenings... a couple hours each night.

It's nice to feel so organized.  Now I just need to address the dust bunnies and cobwebs that have taken residence in every corner of the house.  But not tonight ;o)

  1. SO TRUE that different things get done when hubby goes on a different shift. Especially when you don't really adjust your schedule much to accommodate that, so you end up with lots of hours alone. It's tough to get used to, but by the time you do he'll switch shifts again, lol.

  2. Emily that's exactly what I was thinking! I'm trying to "adjust" as best I can by getting up later so I can stay up to see him get home... but I'm always falling asleep by the time he gets in (almost midnight) and then I'm dragging myself out of bed at 7 to sneak in a cup of coffee before the girls are up. Not fun. But it's so great to have him home during the day. And yes, he switches to a new shift every two months. This flexibility lesson just never ends!

  4. Yep! And J even took the two bags to the Airman's Attic already so we don't even have the "to donate" pile anymore! Ahhhhh.
