243 Mc Narney Drive

Hi from Mississippi! I just wanted to post briefly to let y'all know we're here and enjoying the south! ;o) As my mom says, "it's hotter than hades down here!" but so far it's been great. Our plane trip down was as good as can be expected for traveling so far. Dad and Mom had a good drive in the truck. We had some strong young AF backs to help with the move, and room by room things are looking less like a disaster in here! I LOVE the house! And of course, I'm loving being with Jesse again!!!

We'll have internet early next week so I'll post more details (and pics!) later!

Goodbye!

Dear Corning, I love you! It has been a wonderful, what...6 years or so? You and I really got acquainted my junior year of high school, and we've been through a lot together since then! My family found a great church, met some amazing friends, and moved to you so we could be close to all of that! And then I met my soon-to-be-husband, and got engaged shortly after I graduated from your community college! Jesse and I have a ton of great memories thanks to you...he asked me out in the Wegman's cafe, we had tons of fun dates at your cool restaurants and parks, and we got married in one of your churches! Our first two apartments were great...I will miss the cozy neighborhood of Apt #2 in South Corning! I will miss Wegman's. I will miss Peaches-n-Cream. I will miss the hills that surround you. And most of all, I will miss my family that still lives with you. Sniff sniff. You've been good to me Corning...Love you! I'll think of you often as I start my new life in Mississippi! Love, Jessica

Moving Craziness

Jesse and I talked on the phone this evening and we both agreed that planning a cross-country-military-move is a lot of work! We'll both be glad when all of us, and all of our stuff, are safe in one place again...which will only happen if I don't forget something major at my parents! ;o)

I'm just finishing the last minute things I needed to do before tomorrow, then off to bed. It'll be a long day, but a great one. We're picking up the truck, getting it weighed, loading it, weighing it again, and then (hopefully) taking a NAP! :o) And then the girls will be home from camp and we're having Rawleigh family dinner night at Atlas - my favorite pizza place in Corning!

Sunday I'll kiss my parents and my stuff goodbye (for now) and they'll head down to Biloxi without me! My plane leaves Tuesday morning! I can't wait!!!!!

Is this really happening? :o)

Finally Moving

I'm so happy to report that we have a house waiting for us in Biloxi, and moving plans are underway!

Jesse has yet again received special favor from God...he has flown through the red tape and paperwork that is required to live off base with your family. Many of his friends are still waiting to be allowed to even go off base, and he's heard that some guys don't get the privilege for up to 6 weeks after the arrive at base! So he's been able to pass the tests/checks, get the paperwork through, and get a house in record time! I will be down there about 4 and 1/2 weeks after him! He's amazing! I always tell him he's lucky (aka blessed by God!)

It's seemed like a long time, but now that we're reserving a moving truck and booking plane tickets it doesn't matter! I'm so excited to be a "real family" again...you know, the kind that actually live in the same state...city...house! :o)

So my amazing parents are driving all my stuff down for me so I can fly with Lily. They'll leave next Sunday morning and then I'll leave Tuesday morning and meet up with them in Alabama (just south of where my Aunt and Uncle live). Then we'll all drive the last 5 hours to my new Mississippi home!

Now for one crazy week of planning, packing, and goodbyes!
