Throwback Thursday | Two Life Lessons

Today I want to re-post two old ones...

This one from two days ago over at Jesse's Girl Photography. And this one from two years ago here on There & Back Again.

One is a recent lesson that ties directly with my "slow down" New Year's goal. And the old one, the watch one, makes me chuckle... it was the beginning of this journey to discovering just how deep the roots of my awful workaholic tendencies go. The very first hints at my "death to the to-do lists" challenge!

In case anyone else needs encouragement today that it can take years for a lesson to sink in!

  1. Ohhh...I remember reading that watch post when you posted it! It's funny a few weeks ago we were chatting in Bible study about a professor who challenged his class to not look at a clock for a week and see what happens. I shared that I don't know if I could do it for even one day...to not know what time it is for a whole day! how would I know when mealtimes were? Or nap time and bed time? And it would have to be a day where I didn't have an appointment or a meeting to go to because then I'd surely be late! Ahhhh...it stresses me out thinking about it! :) Clearly, this is something I too have been trying to work on...being in the moment. Apparently I have a bit of a ways to go. ;) Really good encouragement for today. Thanks for sharing your heart!

    1. You're welcome friend! It's true, you can't always just fly by the seat of your pants. But as a SAHM, on most days, the timing of things really doesn't matter all that much. The general flow of the day is pretty predictable. Give or take 15 minutes never killed anyone... ESPECIALLY if Mom is in a happy, chilled-out mood. Then everyone's happy ;o) Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
